Old City Real Estate
As the name implies, this is the oldest neighborhood in the City of Philadelphia and was founded by William Penn in 1681. Home to Independence Hall, where the Founding Fathers first read the Declaration of Independence and drafted the Constitution. Next came the manufacturing of the industrial revolution, which today gives Old City its many loft style condos.
With visitors and residents, businesses and entertainment, alike, Old City is an amazingly active neighborhood—located in the eastern area of Center City, by the Delaware River and bordered by Callowhill St. to the north, Chestnut St. on the south, Delaware Avenue on the east and 8th St. to the west, Old City’s 40+ art galleries open its doors to the public on the First Friday of each month. Home to the Fringe Festival Hub and with fine restaurants and bars and lots of residential real estate options, Old City is a great place to live, work, and play.
