    PHILLY REAL ESTATES TAXES: REDUX
     
    As many of you know, I have blogged extensively on Philly real estate taxes.  On the Actual Value Initiative (AVI), tax abatements, the Homestead Exemption, valuations, assessment models, and the like.  Based on the response, this has always been my most popular subject with readers (yes taxes; who would have thought).  In the past
    I wrote lengthy, detailed articles that were pretty time consuming (to write and read).  Things are busy, and the posts became further and further apart until they pretty much disappeared. 
     
    Now I want to bring them back.  In a shorter format.  A few paragraphs, every now and then, which will concisely explain how the city’s real estate taxes work (and don’t work).  And a lot of it will focus on questions I get from clients.  Future topics will include, “will my taxes go up after I buy?”, “what will the taxes be after the abatement expires?”, and “when should I appeal my taxes?”  I am looking forward to it.
